Where is the tach wire?
Does anyone know where the tach wire is located on the Evo besides on the ECU..

I'm trying to install a Remote Start Alarm.

Why are you avoiding the ECU. If you avoid ECU, you will have to grab it under the hood.

do you know where it is under the hood?

I might have to just use the ECU if I can't find it..

get the field harness so you wont have to tap into your "real" ecu

You need to tap pin 89 on the ECU known as the "Crankshaft Position Sensor". This is where your tach signal can be obtained for devices like turbo timers, fuel controllers, etc.

The Tach Wire is located as a Black/Green wire located under the valve cover. You can find it running into the Direct Ignition. Sounds like you are installing remote start on your alarm ?

You can also find it at the cluster (i.e. Tach wire for the Tachometer) broblem is I forgot the color of it. I want to say white, but might be green with silver dots.

On my eclipse behind the cluster it was green with silver dashes when I installed a monster tach a couple years ago.
