I don't know if this is going to change how
handles its warranty... but hey, maybe they're finally waking up.. at least it seems to be a step in the right direction.

LOS ANGELES -- Toyota Motors Sales U.S.A Inc. and Mitsubishi Motors North America Inc. have signed on as the first sponsors of a program aimed at the tuner market.
Toyota and Mitsubishi have teamed with American Grand Prix Inc., a Malibu, Calif., company that plans to distribute CDs at various automotive events with a focus on the tuner business.
Content of the CDs includes clips from the boy-racer movie, The Fast and the Furious; images of tuned cars; and links to sponsors' sites where users can sign up for test drives and purchase accessories.
The first CDs will be distributed Nov. 3 at the Specialty Equipment Market Association show in Las Vegas, says American Grand Prix CEO Wil Cashen. He says more than 3 million discs will be distributed through September 2004. Cashen also says the sponsorship cost is from 5 cents to 22 cents per CD.

Just because they're handing out CD's to tuners doesn't mean they're embracing the actual tuning of the vehicle and still backing the warranty...
They're marketing the vehicle towards the crowd that is most likely to buy it, and most of them could really give a crap about a warranty since they do so much to any car they never had one anyway...
