mitsu says "ive been caught"
The first thing you need to do, my friend, is take your city out of your location slot in your profile. Its a well known fact that a big quarter mile track resides in that city. Have you gone to said track? Do you think someome could've written down your VIN# or license plate number?
This is a question for you to think about, of course. Do NOT say you have drag raced on these forums now that you have identified yourself in this thread.

Mitsu Big Brothering
I think a good lawyer could have a lot of fun with Mitsu in a court case on this kind of stuff. They build a car that is designed to drag race and road race and then punish you for doing either. There is such a thing of an attractive nuisance where if your actions lead someone to do something wrong, you are at fault. Now that law is usually meant for personal injury, it would not be much of stretch to make it cover this kind of BS.
I DON'T BELIEVE MITSU AMERICA IS DOING THIS.
Its not like this in other countries, why is
treating its US customers like children??? Is this how they expect to build a brand name?
Spying on your customers...WTF???

I remember when I bought my evo 6, the service manager told me to take it out to an old airstrip we used for drag racing... so as to get a proper feel for the car. But on the other hand... Evos are not warrantied here....

Oh, and while I am pissed....
I called Mitsu of North America the other day (1-800-MITSU2003) and asked them about the recall on the ECU. While on the phone and finding out that my car WAS affected by the recall, me and the service representative got into a discussion about the clutch issue. At first, it was professional, where I stated that IF I was ever thinking about modifying the car for more power out, I would upgrade the clutch. Keeping the stock clutch with more power has never been a practice of mine with any car that I have owned. Then I started talking about common sense and warranty claims. I told them that the dealership that I bought my car from was very understanding and reasonable when it came to modifications and warranty issues. Then I was cut off in mid sentance and interrupted with "If you modify your car's engine or drivetrain in ANY way, don't expect Mitsubishi to warranty any of your drivetrain, period." I had the lady repeat what she just said and then asked if she knew what the purpose of a compressor bypass valve was. She said that it didn't matter. The point she wanted to get across was that if the car was modified in any way to improve performance, they would fight you with a warranty claim. So at first, their brochures said "Go forth and modify" and now they are saying "Go forth and modify, without your warranty." Thanks for telling us that in the first place. I didn't realize that Mitsubishi of North America was training for the Olympics (doing the back-stroke).
You know, sodomy is illegal in most places. Stop with the **** raping, Mitsubishi. Most of us are loyal customers. Why did you guys never give me flack with either of my Eclipse GSX's that I owned? Why start with the Evo?

don't worry about it. its possible one of the moderators logged in as you and typed up a bunch of lies, so you see it would be naive of mitsubishi to believe anything posted on this bbs.
