EVO IX gauge lights

So I swapped out my stock Lancer gauges for that of an EVO IX. Everything is working fine except that the gauge lights are on even when the park lights and head lights are off. I was just wondering if this was normal or if there is a way to fix it? Thanks.

did you tap power for the gauges into the light switch power?

Like evokid511 said. You tapped the wrong place. They ONLY turn on when your parking and/or headlights are on.

if you want the gauge lights to shut off when you turn yuour lights off then you need to tap power from your light switch not from the factory gauge power( if the factory gauges do stay on like BBOOSTIN said)

I used the stock wiring harnesses that my lancer es already had. I didn't cut any wires. The two wire harnesses just plugged in. Would I need to rewire? or is it normal like BBoostin said? Thanks for the response everyone.

Guage lights are always on, even when the lights are off.
It's not full bright, but they are on none the less..
100% normal..
