That looks about as OEM as silvia headlights on a civic.

C'mon people, stop cluttering up this thread with lame FM transmitters and aux-input adapters. I wanna see some custom work, some ingenuity.

And to the guy that said, "your pocket"... Y even post in this thread? if you dont have an iPhone, and don't have a way to mount it in your car... then y? Are you that attention starved?

man, i had something that was just ridiculous made up for my car but unfortunatly my iphone broke, i will post up some pics when i finish it anyway because ima get another iphone. it has 2 different versions, one using the ashtray (u will no longer have a ashtray after this) and another next to the head unit, both look very nice and stock. I had a third idea that was crazy and involved lots of work (to the point where it looked OEM NAVI like the evo X but alot smaller oviously because of the iphone) When im finished ill post u guys some pics, sure u will like it.

^^ This is deffinately the style that I prefer. Especially when developers start coming out with turn-by-turn GPS applications.

I use this but becareful on the window cuz the back of the iphone heats up quick who'da thought. But it works great with the dyno app and with a bluetooth headset ur all good. Only downside is wen u get a call or text everyone is all in ur business, so put in airplane mode when ur on the down low lol. Very sturdy solution overall.

There is a program called xGPS that does turn by turn. The voice kinda sucks, but it's still better than Maps. You can download it thru Cydia, but you have to have a jailbroken iPhone.

Can't wait to see some custom installs myself. I'm not a fan of winsheild mounted stuff & wires showing.

Yeah, I've got xGPS on my iPhone. It's not quite refined, but it does a decent job considering it's free. I'm looking forward to some more professional apps coming out when Apple releases their next firmware update.

That billet aluminum one is pretty sweet, but I'm pretty sure my iPhone wouldn't stay in that thing more than 10 minutes in my Evo.

When I recieved the dock in the mail, I plugged it into my Alpine H/U...and it kept searching for my iPhone... Needless to say I'm gonna have to do alot more work than I thought...

I've got a few ways to go with this...we'll see...

Will update as I work with the parts.

Currently awaiting word back from a computer whiz about a iPod to iPhone "extension" with a lead for 12V power supply. This will be ideal for those who are using an aftermarket H/U that doesn't support the iPhone. After I get this "extension", I can shove it into a dock, then shove it into my ashtray (similar to SmartIdiot's, but more user friendly, and able to be easily duplicated).
