iPhone Mounting

How is everyone mounting their iPhone/iPod Touch in their Evo? I want to do something that looks clean, mounts firm (not resting on a seat/cupholder), and is easy to see/touch the screen.

Has anyone experimented with using a docking system and wiring it to the H/U?

EDIT: Due to the lack of support for a custom docking system, I'm beginning a project. I just bought a iPhone/iPod Touch dock and will be converting my ashtray into a docking station. I'll post my efforts (with pictures) when I begin the project.

I have this: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1172880153564

works well for the price...easy to take off when not using it. Keeps my iphone in view at all times in case someone calls.

Damn can't beat that price. Does it hold up with aggressive driving?

That's not a good idea, it gets pretty hot there. I did that in my Eclipse, but it gets hot in the Evo.

and I'm not really into the vent mounted thing. I'm looking for something that looks somewhat stock, or even a little more high-tech than a vent blocking aperture.

I've seen a custom shifter housing that holds an iPhone, but this isn't great, because you have to look down and try to pick it out of the holding place...

There's gotta be more people on here with iPhones that use them for their decks, or Bluetooth them in, or even just have them somewhere other than your pocket, the seat, or the cup holder

I had my old ipod mounted this way, but for those who hope to use the GPS on the iphone this is not a viable solution.

Better...but not quite perfect. I'd rather see something I can grab off the dock quickly, without reaching for the windshield.
