LOL is right! So did you check fitment before removing the first tension bar? I just don't see how it would have an impact on fitment - maybe when you closed the trunk with the first removed it moved the latch system?

I'm not usually so skitterish about trying these things but CF trunk lid fitment can be a pain and mine worked out great. So great that I still eyeball the damn thing to make sure it is fine. OCD much?

*edit - I forgot to mention what 06MREvo stated in that the latch is probably the issue for you. You should be able to eye it pretty closely while closing the trunk. That has to be it.

Did you check fitment *before* removing the first bar? Was everything good then or did you remove the first bar and then do your first fitment check? Basically I'm wondering if fitment was just always an issue. Thanks!

Ah-ha! That makes my own personal paranoia subside, but that still sucks. So fitment is still off and it won't latch? It is just a matter of getting all the bolts done in the right order, unless you have a bunk lid. G/L tomorrow!

actually yes
so i decided today to go inside my trunk and see wat was up
so i hopped in and brought in a flashlight with me and checked it out and watnot.
The problem was, the trunk was too close to the latch that it wouldnt catch it, and a little bit off to the left, it needed to be brought in a bit farther and moved to the right a lil bit

so i hopped out, opened the trunk, loosened all 4 screws, lifted the trunk(while it was open straight up) and pulled to the right...i had to hold up the trunk with my head and had one hand pushing up/pulling the trunk and the other hand tightening the screws lol

so i finished tightening, gave a quick prayer, closed the trunk, and bam, worked like a charm

Glad to hear it worked out. I forgot that I had to jump in there at one point, you reminded me of that!

lol i installed my cf Viz trunk like 2 weeks ago i had to make a carbon fiber bracket peace to push my latch outward so my trunk would lock. I also had to extend my holes where the trunk screws into and take out the springs etc. but with no weight i figured that out. LOL i now just got my cf hatch for my 350z so after doing the evo doing this was a breeze hardest part was cuttin out the glass out the orginal hatch so i can get it put in the new cf one. Just waiting on nissan with my new rubber seal so i can reinstall this thing.

^^^that seems way more involved on the 35 oz than it did on my Evo. When you say make a cf bracket, do you do cf work yourself?
