Usually for me the problem is resolved when the foam blocks are in proper position and I give the bumper some "muscle" and push it on the the vehicle. Both fender clips pop together and re-installation is a cake. If none of this happens I would replace any bad hardware

I actually keep the blocks and it seems to keep the bumper more "solid" feeling IMO

Has anyone figured out if the gap is caused by improper install?
Even with new hardware installed, the gap is still there right under the headlight.

I think its normal. After I took off my front bumper it did this. But I'm sure theres a way to fix it like russellm stated.

Sorry to bump an old thread but, did anyone manage to find a solution to this problem other than buying the new plastic hardware from RussellM?

i had the gap and still have the gap. i bought the pieces russellm sells and it was a waste of my money and wouldnt get it as long as the bumper fits good at the fenders

EDIT: The way to remove the headlight gap is to adjust the 2 brackets holding the crash beam to the car itself.

normal. my clips are "clicked in", and all holes are lined up. no flex or anything anywhere. the gap is uniform on both sides for me, and only under the headlight. no gaps anywhere else.
