I got a HKS FTW. Works perfect and glad to have one. Most people dont list turbo timers as a mod to put on your car. When i was reading up on turbocharged cars in general i read and was told the first mod should be a timer so you dont ruin the turbo.

i hate searching these forums. it's like using a rake to clean up a spill of water. after years of being on here i too started to ask the stupid questions as new threads in laziness. sorry... not really.

i have the HKS Type 1 in my 8, i have it with the plug n play ignition harness and then i wired the 1 wire onto the RPM signal wire off the ecu (they give you a nice diagram and easy to follow instructions) the rpm signal allows me to leave the turbo timer on auto mode, in auto mode it watchs how long im in the high rpm area (i believe this is anything above 3500rpm but not sure) anyway teh benefit of this is that i never have to press buttons exiting my car and if i didnt beat on it, it doesnt take extra time to cool down, but i have gotten it up to 2:30 minutes after beating the hell out of it for like 15 minutes straight....great feature and i wouldnt IMO buy a turbo timer without this feature, it also has a built in programmable shift light and a bunch of other bells and whistles , i got it for a great price from adam at z1auto.com
