I agree on the economic aspect. Also, Evo IX's are at least 3-year old cars. Car prices are expected to drop as they grow old. It's called depreciation. Still good to know that the price is slowly dropping...at least it's not dropping fast.
sure buddy^,so you bought a 30k 2006 evo in 2007, for 20k?also it had 40 k put on it in one year.ill believe that, when me $hit turns purple and smells like rainbow sherbert.you just got an 8 with a 9 bumper, and everyone felt bad so they just didnt tell you.lol

obviously when purchasing a "new vehicle" there are pro's and con's. One would be, and everyone would agree that a vehicle is a depreciating asset. in order to purchase a new vehicle you must acknowledge those simple facts. smart that you waited 2 years for a vehicle with 40 thousand miles, but com'on we were all smiling with our cars 2 years before you and have roughly less than 2 years left to pay.
i agree it sucks to know that a brand new evo from 2003 - present is over $30k years later its worth bubble gum, meaning everyone can buy that piece of bubble gum. some say in a year or two the evo will be the new ricer car cause everyone can afford and kill the cars rep, but who knows everyone and everything with this economy got brought down to hell.
All cars lose value over time, just that some lose value faster than others.
I'm not suprised, although it still kind of sucks. Thats why I'm keeping my Evo for a while after its paid off.

I think I'm lucky for buying my Evo last year with 22k on it for $26k - with 8k worth of aftermarket parts on it - I ended up parting out the parts I didn't like/need and got new parts. I am pretty thankful because the previous owner is an EvoM member and is a great guy who provided all the details/info on the car and it was babied. No matter what you paid - an evo 9 is one of the best car you can own. Be happy you own one
Oh and if you feel bad - don't - 335i drivers who bought loaded 335i all optioned out at $55k are selling their cars for $30! That's a 25k depreciation in 2 years!

Agrees with Azn, no car payments = the shiznit. I am kinda bummed out though. Local rumor around town was (2005/2006 time frame) was that the Evo IX was the last model being brought to the states. Only to see the X show up roughly 2008. Big kick in the nuts for me as I went all out and got a Evo IX MR (kinda hoping for collectability, shrug). Second kick in the nuts was the very much improved interior decor and accessories over the slightly dismal 1978 orange colored display I got with my IX. Although I've read it's heavier/slower then Evo VIII's/IX's, I'm a sucker for comfort items (should see my fabulous iPod touch cigarette holster/charger/fm tuner, it's.....horrible to look at).
Luxury is overated....I'll wait til I'm 30 to uhm....65?! lol I always thinks that a pure enthusiast's luxury should be: 1. a manual transmission with perfect gear ratios, 2. a roaring engine, 3. a tightly tuned suspension = all the luxury I need
