Purple Headlights on Evo?

Just wondering anyone has any purple lights on their Evo..

Yesterday while ccruising around in my pops SL55 we came up to a White STI with purple headlights (bulbs). Looked sick..

I was wondering if anone has them on their Evo?
Im thinking of ordering some Nokya's right now.

8500K purple..9005..
but they are like 100W? :/ Im worried something will break..or catch fire.
Can it?

Thanks!

Don't get those high wattage HID looking bulb. Your harness are not designed to support 100w
Just buy the $100 HID kit they sell, it's inexpensive and reliable. Just don't get purple lights in general, they are not bright when the road is wet, and they are cop magnet.

but wutever you do, don't buy those bulbs, I don't want to see you start a thread saying you have electrical problem

Will the HID kits just plug into a normal GSR non HID evo headlight?

xenon is another option and it operates at low wattage. anything more than 6000k is annoying as ****.

All STi's come with factory HIDs. He probably had some aftermarket 10k HID bulbs.

It may look sick, but you sacrifice visibility. I wouldn't recommend PnP HID kits either because even though you may see better, I know I won't when your heading towards me.

my friend's ix gsr has the $100 HID kit in his car, so yes it will fit

HID works at 35 Watt compare to halogen 55watt.

Eh 115 is to much for just the headlights to be a different color though ^_^ Rather add 75 and get a tune for like, 60+ more hp, ya know.

There are some ebay hid kits for about$60.. I got some for my wifes mazda a couple years ago and theyre still shinning.. 10k btw, but like others said you loose visability. It just looks cool when you look at your car with em on. lol. I ended up changing bulbs to 6k.

Try this kit, slim ballasts and cheap. I got a set and works fine. Lifetime replacement too.

Your not just paying for a "different color." You're paying for drastically better visibility at night given you use 4300/5000K bulbs. $100 to equip a non HID Evo to HID is more than worth it, I see no reason for modern cars not having HID's from the factory.

Anyway the blue/purple/rainbow color temp bulbs are absolutely stupid but based on your user name I can see how you find them attractive. I'm not going to go on a list the various reasons why they are inferior to OEM style HID bulbs but I'll keep an eye out for your car in the "I wrecked my Evo Thread" on a rainy day once you install those rainbow bulbs.

i have 55W 3000K for the fogs and 55W 6000K for the high beams. Might be overkill on the High beams.
