Just got an answer today.

Bill,

We are aware of the seat theft problem with these vehicles. In fact I’m told that the replacement cost of each seat is $7600 so I can appreciate the need. Unlike the Honda seat lock bolt, this size is not a stock item so we will have to design a special bolt for this application. We are actually waiting for Mitsubishi in the USA or Japan (both are customers) to provide the drawings for this part. Since these bolts are holding a seat in place you can understand that they have safety requirements so it is important for us to know what the specs are. I can’t tell you at this point if we are going to be able to make locks for this application but I will get back to you as soon as I have some information.

Best regards,

John

LMMFAO, $7600 a SEAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WTF!!!!!!
I offered to send in my own if it would speed the process up any more.

I have not forgotten about this, I just do not want to be a nuisance with constant emails and phone calls.

I bet I could defeat that with a cheap socket and a hammer.

I have wheel lock removers that I can remove them with within 15 seconds.

I'm hoping in those extra 15 seconds, I can come out side and deal with the situation myself.

********* UPDATE 07/14/09 *****************8

Bill,

Thank you for offering to send in your seat bolts, we already have a sample bolt we ordered from the local dealer. We would like to get the drawings (blueprints) from Mitsubishi because they will contain all of the critical dimensions and material specifications. We will try to move things along as quickly as possible. Thanks for your interest. John

Bumping an old thread back up. Did this ever happen or not? I used to own a S2000 as well, and also bought a set of these seat locks. I'd be interested in getting a set if it ever comes out for EVOs. On a side note, does the S2K seats cost more than the Recaros in the EVO?
