Any interest in seat locks for the Evo?
I was just wondering with the rash of stolen seats lately, if anyone would be interested in seat locks for their Evo?
I HAVE NOT LOOKED INTO WHAT IS REQUIRED (minimums) from the company.
Back in my S2000 days this was a huge epidemic, and unfortunatley it is now bleeding into our community.
Just wanted to see if there was interest before I made calls and made an *** of myself.
Very simple and effective design.
The original design was called "Kodokan Seat Locks" , requested by Pete.

I am really sorry guys, they just got back to me today.
Bill,
We are aware of the seat theft problem with these vehicles. In fact I’m told that the replacement cost of each seat is $7600 so I can appreciate the need. Unlike the Honda seat lock bolt, this size is not a stock item so we will have to design a special bolt for this application. We are actually waiting for Mitsubishi in the USA or Japan (both are customers) to provide the drawings for this part. Since these bolts are holding a seat in place you can understand that they have safety requirements so it is important for us to know what the specs are. I can’t tell you at this point if we are going to be able to make locks for this application but I will get back to you as soon as I have some information.
Best regards,
John

Bill,
Thank you for offering to send in your seat bolts, we already have a sample bolt we ordered from the local dealer. We would like to get the drawings (blueprints) from Mitsubishi because they will contain all of the critical dimensions and material specifications. We will try to move things along as quickly as possible. Thanks for your interest. John

Yup, having an S2000 it was a double whammy. Not only are your seats stolen, but your top was ripped too. This was a blessing for us when he came out with it.
Now all you had to do is replace the top after they ripped it open and realized they could not steal your seats.

Friends car was armed with a Viper alarm w/ motion sensors. He heard his car start at 7:00pm and watched his car drive away down the street.
His Viper 2 way showed that he was still armed.

You know this is how I look at it. Its not going to stop someone from breaking into your causing you to have fix stuff anyway. The way I look at it its going to ruin their day as well so why not....you've already screwed with my car......if you don't get to walk away with the prize then its a lose lose for both pf us. I'll probably still need to have the seats fixed/replaced but at least those b@st@rds didn't get what they came for.....I hate thieves.
