Why not. My evo was salvage with just a little front damage. The insurance companies are just giving them salvage title real quick in an accident.

Salvage titles are not necessarily a bad thing. If you are buying the car as a collectable than no but if the damage is limited and the repairs are done correctly than I don't see a problem. Some states issue a salvage when the car is brand new and a certain percentage of the replacement value is the repair cost. I have owned salvage title cars and had no problems with them.

In the end, it's a matter of whether the repairs made to the car restored it to original spec. I personally wouldn't buy a salvage where I wasn't the one that oversaw the repairs.

I would have no problem. As long as everything is in good condition.

Lol. This couldn't be more wrong. Every car I have driven has been salvage titles. I have an '05 evo and a '07 tiburon both with full coverage. You buy the car for less and you will sell the car for less. You never lose any money. I would def look it over good and test drive it, but other than that i would say your golden. on salvage titles.

seems like it would be the other way around, with all the stress you put on a race car you want a car as strong as possible, but i guess its no problem with cage and stuff since alot of ppl are giving that answer

when you build a COMPLETE race car, you take EVERYTHING out of the car and basically start with a shell. from there you can reinforce/fix anything with the actual rigidity of the frame and car....

if your just buying it to drive on the road, there could be a problem and you never know it.....

It doesn't matter if its salvage title, you think all clean title cars are perfect?
Test drive it and look for frame damage. Frame is the most important.

I bought a rebuilt titled evo, it was stolen down in cali and stripped. they took the wheels, tires, hood, front bumper, steats and some interior stuff. the guy i got it from bought it off of co-part, put all oem parts back on it and had it painted and i picked it up with 39k miles for 11.8k. runs great has some tasteful mods and drives good.

My rx7 is also a rebuilt title from theft in oregon..
