gas pedal mod?

The feel of my 9's pedal is too light. I drive long distances regularly, 1600 hundred mile trips every other month. This is the first vehicle I've owned that the gas pedal won't hold up my foot. If I relax while cruising on the highway I'm going triple digit speeds in short order. The setup is pretty uncomfortable on the shins.

Has anyone added or know how to add a stiffer return spring to the throttle linkage?

If your shins are hurting your driving position is too far forward. The accelerator pedal is suppose to be light for lightning quick throttle control.

So after market pedals that are light makes the throttle have quicker control?

I think he meant a light "response," not actual weight of the pedal itself.

I know you can shorten and tighten the clutch pedal, can you do something like this with the accelerator?

This is probly your best answer so far. Not only will it make it easier on the shins, but it will keep you from those triple digit speeds you spoke of!

There must be a stiffer spring from another application, just have to find it. I drive with the seat almost all the way back but follow the rule of being able to rest the center of my wrists on top of the wheel while sitting back in the seat. Agree an aftermarket cruise will help a lot.

I drive barefoot for long distances, helps a little.

I call bs on the light pedal = faster response.

after 8 hours of moving my leg, moving my seat, pressing on the gas with my left foot to give my right a break I gave up and installed a cruise.
I called the people at http://www.mnrelectronics.com/ and they sent me an electronics (not vacuum) servo, a switch, an adapter for the Evo throttle cable and a clutch switch. The throttle cable adapter helped the install. I skipped the clutch switch and just tapped the rpm signal. I believe the Evo is 4000 clicks per mile on the program and set the gain for low or extra low.

the pedal is light so it doesn't take long to floor it. do you actually drive the speedlimit?!
