19k is how much my friend got offered for his MR with about 45k. So 19k sounds like a pretty good offer if you don't have any time.

19k sounds about right from a dealer.

Has anyone dealt with carmax? Are their prices really non-negotiable?

My fellow evom'ers...what do you guys think?

I just bought my evo from carmax in rockville maryland about 2 months ago. I like the way they run there business and are very straight forward with you. Mines an 06 evo ix, clean carfax never in an accident, no rockchips, interior spotless, looks like it just came of the new car dealer lot. I bought the car for 24,995 with 28k on it

From my experience with carmax (brought 3 cars there Acura Integra, Saab 9000, and a Nissan Sentra) There is roughly a 3-4 thousand dollars off what you could expect to get from private buyer. Honestly in my opinion it's not worth the headache, if you need the cash just trade it in.

Beware about buying from them though. Apparently their "125 point inspection" does not include checking out the clutch, fluids, or even brake pads. Bastards. This is just my experience though.

Que?

$19 is the most your gonna get from a dealer. Esp if its a straight buy, your honestly lucky to get that.
Selling private almost isnt worth the headaches sometimes. Id throw it on Ebay for a week and see what happens though. Just be forwarned. lol

if you really are pressured with time and you don’t want any headaches then 19k is fair. However if you have time try to sell it private. The problem now is that with the economy your going to have to be very pacient and people are going to low ball you. so IMO take the 19k and be done.
