I recently had to put a new radiator support in so I had to remove the hood latch and now that it is renistalled the hood wont close all the way. I took a look at the hood latch and its locked shut and when I go to pull the hood tab in the car it has no tension on it. Anyone know whats going on here and how I can fix it?

 

What it sounds like is the latch is too high. Have someone lift on the hood when you pull the release handle to open it and try to adjust the latch a little lower.

 

I dont get it. The hood is already lifted it wont close because the latch is stuck closed. I need to get the latch to open.

 

oh ok....... have some one pull the handle.... and use a screwdriver to open the latch.

 

Ok i figured it out. The hood latch was in fact stuck open not closed. The reason the hood wouldnt close all the way is because the latch was positioned wrong but I fixed it. Thanks for the advice.
