not holding idle??? WTF???

So I took a 3 day vacation, (vegas) and was excitied to come home to my evo, wanting to take her out for a spin, (@ 10:30pm) and she just died on me... I started her up again, and dead... It held idle till ~ operating temp, and just dies. It starts, but, like I said, as soon as it warms up, it dies! I tried stabbing the gas before it stalls, but that doesnt help! Im not really in any condition to be wrenching on my car (drunk) and not exactly too handy any damn way... lol But Im sitting here going WTF???

I recently had an issue w/ my FP (~ 4 months ago) and the wire from the sender unit, came unhooked... It was put back and all was well... Could this have anything to do w/ it? The fuel guage isnt giving me any issues... I tried to get to my FP, but apparently Im not strong enough (@ the moment) to unhook the latches to the 3 wires on the top of the sender unit, to even get in there... sad... I know. lol

But Im sitting here going WTF??? I dont see anything (lines) that appear to be loose/dis-connected, as far as the lines behind the int. mani (vac. lines) I believe... But what do I know... Are there any other lines I should be aware of? Im mechanically retarded! and admit that! but trying to learn!

UUUGhhh, this is my 1 and only car, so any help is much appreciated!

TIA

Im clueless, and in need of some guidance...
I think I read something bout this a couple weeks ago, (somewhere) but dont remember where I saw it... I guess, I'll start w/ all of the idle issues threads...

Look for the IAC, its basically a stepper motor with a cone that moves in and out into the seat of the idle circuit on the throttle body. If you look at that cone, it should be held in place by three grooves, and there should be three "Teeth" that fit into the groove.

When it gets worn, those teeth are gone and it can rotate. If it can rotate, it can't move in and out when the stepper motor rotates.

Thank you! I will give it a look, when I get home...

Had the same issue with my dsm and now its happening to my Evo. The iac(isc) is located on the bottom of the throttle body under the uicp. You can also try turning the biss to adjust the idle for a temporary fix; clockwise to lower the idle and counterclockwise to raise the idle. The biss is on top of the TB facing the firewall. Use a philips screw to adjust it.

ok, apparently, I have a more serious problem....

So I had a buddy come down, to do a leak down test and look @ the ICS... I did NOT start my car all day, so he could se the symptoms... So the car started, and w/ in 1 minute, dies out... And then wont start at all! We jumped the car, and it started for a minute, then died out, still attached to the other car... And will not start again... We filled the battery w/ distilled water, but no difference...

We pulled out the plug under the TB, checked it, plugged it back in, but no difference. All lines are connected, no cell, just wont start! But if I let it sit overnight, it will "cold start" for a min.
We did not do a leak down test, as we concluded that it wasnt a leak...

Im thinking the possibilites are: Alternator, battery, starter

Please give me some insight, as Im limited on mechanical knowledge, as well as funds... TIA

Just got back from autozone... battery is charging over there for an hour, we'll see what happends when I get it back...

Elect. mods are TT, 3 guages, and the zeitronix lcd screen, and a stereo system. All electical mods have been on the car for over a year +, and most for over 2.

We checked fuses, all good. Im hoping its just the battery, cause I was seeing high 9's to low 10's volts as it was testing...

Report back in a bit...

could be ur alternator is gone....no electrician nearby?

u should see a battery light..

and IMO dont recharge batteries unless they are relatively new - get a new one. u dont want to be out and ur battery goes.
