Problems with evo, need help

So last night while
driving my Evo my brake light came on while I was braking ... Then at the stop light my car did not want to go in first on the first try ... I didn't know if these things were related but my friend told me he thinks my master brake cylinder might be going out. Could these problems be related and is that the problem? I'm hoping so. The brake light only comes on when I brake hard but my brakes work fine and I have plenty of pad life. From checking last night and today it seems the first gear shifting problems only come on when the brake light is on but I could jar just gotten lucky... Thanks for any help or ideas.

Your dash brake light is an indication that either your brake pads are going out or your brake fluid is low. I don't think that your two problems are related though.

The clutch master and brake master share a common resevoir...so yes they are related. you may have a leak at the clutch slave or are just low on brake fluid.. add some and bleed what you have if problem persists.

You're sure the fluids are okay? Because if the brakes are working fine and the light comes on it usually mean brake fluid is low like the other guy said.
