Any time this kind of took place if you ask me, My partner and i set several plastic close to the particular show so that it keeps on there eternally.. took place if you ask me 2 times just before, yet by no means once more since i would in which.

 

I just pop the trunk open and pull the cable to pop it open

 

this happened to me this week on Monday.... I had to had someone hold the fuel lever inside "up" while I used my card to pop open the door.... REALLY annoying.... finally had time to go to the mitsu dealer and pick up a replacement clip... it was $2.02.... so I grabbed two...

 

It's 2019 fellas and this happened with me. Stayed in line for 20 min reached up to the gas pump and boom !! Fuel door doesn't open !! But i know what to do, Thanks to you guys !

 

When mine broke last week I fixed it with a coil spring I had in my junk drawer.

 

It's definitely the gas door spring, I had to have a bystander hold the gas door lever while i used my drivers license to pry door open ( wasn't hard to pry) and then the spring fell into pieces on the ground. I bought mine off amazon for $7 dollars. beler MR970563 is the item and you should be good to go in no time!

 

I used to cram my keyfob into the gas door lever until I fixed it.. works in a pinch.

I wrote above about how I had fixed by gas door with a junk drawer spring. Well, Thanksgiving morning, about 2:00 A.M., driving on closed interstate in sustained 60 mph winds, blowing and falling snow, I stopped for gas, can barely stand in the wind, and the gas door won't open. Got a new spring from Amazon.
