Hmmm.. odd. I thought i was getting a GSR.. but the invoice says RS. But i must admit, this is a "great" deal considering there's no sales tax or destination charges.... i'm lost for words.

If it was ever made legal..you would pay your state sales tax once you registered/titled the vehicle. No different then buying any other car out of state.
Don't do it. It isn't worth $34,000 to have a car that isn't legal and probably won't be anytime soon. EI promised a street legal Evo to the first buyers 1 1/2 years ago. Now those people have a two year old Evo VII they can't legally register/drive. Have you ever driven an Evo with ayc/acd? It isn't worth 6k more. The 6-speed is also not a proven tranny..and you will be s.o.. if something goes wrong with it. Do you REALLY think an ASE mechanic here in the US can service the AYC/ACD?? Good luck if you get failure from one of them. If you want an Evo just get a US VIII..you will be plenty happy, you won't miss having ayc/acd, or a 6-speed.

Your JDM Evo 8 will look real pretty on the dock because that's as far as it's going to get.

Haha.. dont worry.. it's not mine. I didnt' pay for anything yet. But i do wonder why Adam and EI would go through all the trouble of importing and ACTUAL car to the states (keep in mind they have to buy it from somewhere over in Japan), for a measly $34000. After costs, EI can't be making much at all....?

Not directing this toward you Madcow or anyone in particular but I wonder how many people come on here to say they got there car from EI just so they can give people that are naive a little extra push toward gettin suckered out of there money.
