Forgive my ignorance... but isn't a 2 step a rev limiter?

Sounds right to me. The 2 step is just a form of rev limiter.

well If you guys would read the original post what I was saying is I have my 2step rev launch and thats it unless the car is rolling. I have a 6 grand limit when the car is stopped no matter what, and then the computer doesnt stop my car from reving in 1st at all it will keep going I know my 2step is a rev limiter but its not the main one I was refering to not working. Im guessing if you guys dont have one either it would just be normal but you guys at idle can rev the car out past 2step if the car is not in 1st? My friends 06 can do it but mine cant thats what I was originally talking about.

Its not smart to just rev your car out to 8,000 with no load. Some Evo owners.... boy oh boy

Ok, I re-read and want to make sure I read it correctly. You say you have a 2 step setup on your car and it should be stopping around 6k but it isn't? If that's the case, you should take it back to your tuner.

Most of you guys I don't think have ever heard if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all. 1st if all I cant rev it to 8000 with no load, and 2nd how is it bad for the car. How would this effect my car in anyway if I was trying to sell it because it tuned to 7800rpms and I never really even go alot past 7 anyway Im just saying the few times I did or when I was spinning my tires in first they just climbed. denny424 and churbo you guys should just not comment back get a life or comment on something that you can help with not trash talk for no reason thats what honda forums are for. metalsaber thanks for actually reading and trying to help out. I do have my 2 step with the car at a complete stop either in gear or out. The problem I was talking about was if I was taking off in first the rpms just climb and unlike my friends evo which his car with rev limit at I believe 7500 rpm where mine will climb past my tune at 7800. Im just gonna give sean a call and ask him what to do now instead of trying to discuss stuff on here and not bother busy people.

In that case you could still ask your tuner. My car will rev forever or until it explodes while driving. That rev limiter is just to protect your engine from driver error. I wouldn't worry about it unless you are prone to over revving while driving. if you are worried about it, he should be able to fix that up for you.

Translator here: I think he is trying to say that if the clutch switch was actually bad then the car wouldn't even start
