Is this an alternative?

I've been thinking about this ever since I got my car - I bought a TB Evo IX basically because the dealer had one, but I've wanted it in white ever since I bought the car.. Pretty expensive but I'm wondering..

Would it be cheaper to trade every body part (doors, fenders, hood, trunk, bumpers) with a guy with a white evo who wanted a black one?? Otherwise I think I'll have to paint the car, I don't want to get a different one..

paint it, the door sills and the engine bay and inner trunk will still be black. You will end up painting some of it so paint all of it so it matches. Remember paint fads differently on every car depending on how it is maintained. piecing it together will get you a multi colored car. LOL

just because your trading parts doesnt mean you wont have to paint. dont forget the rear "quarter panels" are not removable. you then have door jams, engine bay, etc...that will all need to be painted.

From: MS/SG...now in perth
if me
i would wait until the car is pretty worn down
paint is in bad condition
after all, mitsubishi oem paint is not that gd
maybe wait until the paint condition is not that great
like chips or scratches here and there are bound to happen or if u autocross your car
that would give u a better reason to paint the car
and its not 5 grand to paint a car
thats hella expensive
just get a decent paint job and it will do, no need to go for those exotic high end paint...
then think about painting it white
well
thats what i would do instead of painting it right away

^yea its pricey for a paint job, where i work(honda dealership) $3500 for a paint job from my one coworker cause my first choice was electric blue but i have a black evo but its on you IMO i would keep it the same way until it needs it like what skyblas is saying. Its what your preference is.

5K would be a cheap paint job, hopefully the quality wouldn't be cheap as well. I am a painter I know. To do it right all the removable panels have to be taken off and all the windows out AND the engine needs to come out or mostly out to paint the engine bay.

What would be the cost of doing mainly exterior, vs doing something like this https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...tric-blue.html

And paint is permanent? Plus the wrap acts as a clearbra on the paint below it.

It honestly would probably cost you less to find a white IX and sell yours and buy it then it would to paint yours white. Wrapping it, on the other hand...
