I have searched through this forum for rear defroster help and only one post came up which had no useful info ...

My rear window defroster on my 04 Evo 8 is not working. When I push the button the light does not come on and the window will not be cleared. I looked at the fuse and its in good condition. I wanted to take a look at the terminal but didnt see any on the side of the rear window. How is the current being provided to the grid? What are other things that I need to check before having to replace the grid?

 

My defroster button would not activate the relay and the problem was traced to faulty heater control panel(replaced under warranty and perfect ever since)

 

put a Multimeter on the actual window unit input and trace back from there.... most likely the relay for it is bad simple plug n play fix

 

What's worse ... Bumping that old thread or starting a new one with the same problem of that OP ??

Anyway... Here is my situation :

Rear defroster don't work at all on my IX MR.
The defrost button lights up when pushed.
I have checked all fuses and they are all fine.
Car have a tint on the backglass. I have removed the 2 plastic panel to see if everything was fine for the backglass wiring ; saw nothing special.

Where is that relay the guy before me talked located ?
Heater control panel ????
