Hey guys i have searched all over and couldn't find anything helpful. So this is what happens. Cars running fine until I turn the blower on for either my ac or defrosters only. My heat works great but if I put it to defrosters or any kind of heat/defroster combo it makes my car completely stall. The second it turn the blower on my vacuum skyrockets passed 30psi and my car dies. Any insight? All help will be appreciated thank you

The only thing I can speculate on is your AC compressor is causing this in some shape or form. You mention it only does it in defrost mode and AC so that is your culprit there. It uses the AC to dehumidify the car so it comes on in the defrost mode.

Is the compressor locked up? It could be as that would for sure cause it to die.

 

Unplug the compressor and turn the a/c and defrost on to see what happens

 

Any progress here? I have the exact same issues going on myself and am hoping to find some resolve in advance of the high summer heat on its way.

Is your car modified and tuned? You're A/C idle up map has to be adjusted as well when you get retuned, I suspect that's most likely your problem if you have no idling problems anytime else. I also assume your a/c works while driving, just stumbles and dies at idle.

 

Yes, my car is tuned and AC works fine when under way and only stalls when coming to a stop and/or at idle. It seemed to start after a stereo swap out and having the battery positive removed to complete install which amounted to an overnight stint.
I didn't feel this would affect the tune at all, bu apparently that't where we are at after. Doesn't add up to me. Thanks for the quick follow up.

 

If you had the battery disconnected the car needs to relearn AC off and AC on idle. Give is some drive cycles

 

can u tell where i can find the plug for the ac compressor

 

i did have it disconnected for awhile but its been connected for a few weeks now

 

I am also having this problem. I have a tune .so maybe thats it. With a/c on, slowly drops and dies at idle
