Well since these bushings would stiffen everything up, it would only make sense that more of the noises would be transmitted through to the car.

The road noise and normal noise from the differential will be louder inside the car,get the mustache bar elimination kit and it will be even louder. The 'clunk' will be gone though as that is generated from the rear differential moving caused by soft bushings.

I have Buschurs Mustache Elimination kit and solid side differential mounts bolted it up without the small rubber grommet they suggested you reuse and you can hear all the noise the rear diff makes, it's very enjoyable as well as it improved the rear end response significantly.

After switching to the above mods and solid motor mounts I've realized that our 3 piece driveshaft has more play than it should and produces a small amount of 'clunk' when driving hard, you want that on a rally car pounding around dirt roads, not on tarmac.

Yea, remind me not to buy the car from this guy when he sells it.

I've heard of people going through their factory clutch in as little as 3,000 miles. If you keep this up, you'll be one of them.

clunk = bad noise.

road and drivetrain wine = acceptable noise.

Okay, to clarify, your rear-end "clunk" or "thump" will go away. You will pick up kind of a gear box type noise while driving. You'll know it when you hear it.

As far as the two-step and all the launches, if you like your transfer case, I'd chill out on all that. No offense but from the sounds of things, that car isn't going to make it very far without some kind of critical damage unless you change your driving behavior a little bit.

See post # 2 for rear diff and driveshaft bushing info:

I personally have the Energy bushings but for street cars prefer the Beatrush bushings due to less noise and far easier installation.
