HKS Air Filter Gap

I was wondering if this was an issue at all when considering this air filter? I am stuck deciding between the K&N which is oiled (and I've heard issues with that as well). So it's either http://www.outperformanceshop.com/pr...0017-am005.htm or http://www.amazon.com/33-2105-Replac.../dp/B00062Z0NE

You need to ask yourself;
Is 1.5 hp worth gunk in your oil, increased bearing wear, and scared cylinder walls?
As long as you don't over oil the K&N filter you will be fine.

I'm almost positive that the HKS panel filter is a great filter...just as good as any other panel filter. It's the Racing Suction kit that doesn't filter properly (but that's because it's meant for more performance).

I think you'll be just fine going either way. I say go HKS since it's cheaper...

No tune needed. That was my choice and that is what I went with. I think it A) looks better than that ugly factory box, B) outperforms drop in filters, and C) is a trust worthy product by one of the top manufactures of aftermarket evo parts, who backs his products up 100 percent.

I would get a cone filter. I don't know who told you you would need a tune....
