Rear-ended Evo IX MR

Hey everyone, well last night while driving back from picking up the gf a careless female hit the left rear end of my Evo . The trunk is damaged, taillight is destroyed, the rear bumper shattered in half, the rear frame is very close to the tire, and left side is somewhat bent up to the gas door. At this point I no longer feel like keeping the car but I still owe a lot and dont have the money to invest in something else. I had big plans for the Evo and seems like they just went down the drain.

The insurance company is going to fix it but my question is how good will the car be for road racing/auto-x???

Whats the best thing to do in this situation???

*UPDATE* 12/12/09
Well I got an estimate today and it was about $7000, luckily nothing is coming out of our pockets. On Monday theyre going to start taking it apart and figure out the remaining damage. They are ordering a new bumper, trunk, left hand side, and taillights. One thing that confused me is that they said these cars are assembled in sections, so if something gets damaged they can order that certain section instead of trying to bend it back together. Dont know if this is true. But on Monday Im going to the body shop and they are going to show me all the damage and what will be fixed and will show me the progress as it goes. This made me feel comfortable knowing and seeing whats going on with the Evo. Ill take a camera on Monday and take pics of the damage.

It'll never drive the same but if you are going to turn it into a track car go ahead and keep it. whatever shop you take to better be a good to try to straighten the frame.

Take it where you want to take, not where the insurance wants you to. Just make sure it gets fixed right and everything will be fine. You got pics you can post?

most of the serious track cars were involved some kind of accident before they got build or rebuild .../some even have a salvage title/
not to mention most of them will be involve one sooner or later
until the car is not destroyed , its fixable.
So will be fine.

Ill put pics once I take it to the shop, it was dark and had no camera when it happened. As of now Im just going around trying to pick the best shop I can find. Im just glad it was the rear end and not the front. The exhaust is still good and wasnt bent or anything. My meth tank was leaking so Im guessing the tank might of got smashed but hopefully the pump is still good.

make sure you take it to the best frame shop you can find seriously you wont be dissapointed later after its fixed. good luck man! just remeber when metal bends and you bend it back it will never be as strong its a weak point now. kinda common sence.

make sure you take it to a very good frame shop and they can tell you anything youll need to know. it shouldnt be that much of a problem to straighten out, but id really have to see some pictures to tell.

Well you just lost a grip of value by it having a carfax crash. Make sure the insurance company pay the additional 10% lost vehicle value and not just for the repairs.
