I go back and forth on air tools. I guess they are good for taking things apart but, I'd almost never recommend putting something together with one. Even for taking things apart I've got a little cordless impact that I prefer over air because I can control it a bit better.

Air tools should only be part of the arsenal... and not the 'quick' way to do a job... I have air plumbed throughout my garage.. but I use it only as needed, for tires, for blowing things off, for impact usage when necessary, nice way to dry off some of the evo too after washing it (like water that collects in hood and trunk gaps, around door handles, behind side mirrors, grills, marker/tail lights, etc.)

I work on my junk in a gravel driveway if it is longer than a few hours. For small stuff I use my bay at work, nice 20 bay Toyota dealership, and have about 15k in tools there. I also have a small set for the house, 3/8 socket set, wrench set, ratchets, screw drivers, plier set, and a jack and stands.
you can do a lot with a good basic toolset for less than $100, and find a friend who's in the military, they have places where you can use a lift and get what ever tool u need for a couple bucks per hour.
