My 03 Evo 8 has stock turbo timer?

Yes, I have had the car for about a month now and before I used to turn the car off and it would just shut off, and just last week, I had to disconnect negative battery terminal for maintenance and when I reconnected and started her up and test drove, and then parked and went to shut it off, and it stayed running with the key out and doors locked, it then shut off after exactly 30 seconds of after-run. I have searched and searched but have not found anything that tells me Evo's come stock with a turbo timer. Can anyone help shed light on this?

Sounds like a turbo timer, does it only do it if the e-brake is up? I would start looking around the ignition area for a harness.

Thanks!

If it does have an aftermarket one, Its hidden pretty darn good, but that doesnt explain why it never did it before I had to take off battery cable. and I have never parked without e-brake, I'll have to try that, Thanks

Could be that it was set to not turn on before, and pulling the battery reset it to defaults?

Nothing on the stock car should keep it running, especially not for exactly 30 seconds every time.

Try it without the ebrake on, if that doesn't work... that's a better indication that it most likely is a turbo timer.

If you cannot find the harness or the car does not have an aftermarket alarm. I'd look here for your answer. https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/in...lins-rain.html

a lot of aftermarket alarms offer a turbo timer function

the glovebox is a common place to find a turbo timer

The problem with your car not turning off

Your problem with your evo not turning off is that you have corroded wire connections where your wires come in through the firewall this happened to me. Your connections get water in them because of a bad seal if you don't fix them your horn will start honking itself and a lot of other things dash lights don't turn on or off your wipers will turn them selfs on and wont turn off and you get a lot of electrical problem hear is a link to the solution.
