Yea the dealership will cost you about $1000.00 on a good day. It's better if you look online and hopefully you'll find a cluster with close mileage

As far as I know the mileage is all in the cluster. For example I have around 100,xxx and if i buy a used cluster with around 50,xxx then the cluster won't have my original mileage and show the 50,xxx. This causes a problem because it's not the true mileage and it's illegal if you plan to sell your lancer in the future.

A guy i know swapped a evo guage cluster into a oz rally 03' and the anti-lock stays lit the whole time since they dont have abs and it was a direst swap i think and the mileage changes to what is on the cluster not what is on your car so technically your car will be TMU (true mileage unknown) and my parents own a car dealership and your car is worth literally half becuase the miles are not real, you could say well it only has this many (120,000 etc.) but how can they trust you and they dont really care.... trust me its not worth the swap! save up for some mods instead of gauges that give you 25 whp!

Yea it also depends if you want to sell your car in the future. If you plan to keep your lancer forever then by all means do the swap and if you do happen to find a cluster that's close to your true mileage you could go to a mechanic or mitsubishi and they could make a note that your mileage is exact... just in case you want to sell your car privately. (I doubt a dealership will want to mess around with a car that has TMU)

i am sure there are people that have swapped them and they had about a couple thousand less and they never told anyone which is illegal but hey do what you want but if you put evo guages in a lancer it is not an evo but i owned 2 lancers before my evo and i know how you feel! It hurts when you see an evo but if i had all the money i put into my lancers i would have had a about a extra 5000 - 6000 dollars towards the evo i drive now. It will come alot faster if you start saving now cuase 03 evo's are only like 14k and soon they will be lower and lower... they may not be perfect but it is still an evo!
