To use the MUT tool on the test drive doesn't take 17 miles. We usually take it on a spin around the block, then on the freeway and back. Shouldn't be more than 5-10 miles max. Sounds to me like they did the MUT scan, and also had a little fun at the same time.

Damn, lighten up. 17 f*ckn miles. What is the big deal? It's not like they slept with your wife. They had to drive it for the MUT and 99% of techs don't beat cars. Even if they drove it a little spirited, the car is meant to handle it.

Sorry, but I think you are worrying and whining way too much.

Do not forget that you might not be able to complain to the Service Manager as HE might have been driving it or gave the okay...got to the TOP of the dealership and request compensation.

17 miles of possible clutch drops and burn outs is not right when it is not your car....just food for thought.

(*I worked at a dealership in high school and the techs would usually give the high performance cars a beating on test drives, and take them to lunch. Anyone I have ever talked to that works at a dealer will tell you the same if they are honest about it.)

MrBonus - what a load of ****!

Almost all dealerships are required to record mileage when you drop it off and then when you go to pick it up. So they will have the records for you.

Hey guys, not that i wanna stand up for the dealership's cause i think they all suck, but im a volvo tech and have been in the same dealer for 4 yrs now. when it comes to warrenty work, there has to be a in/out mileage, and on some specific fixes/recalls, certain amout of miles have to be put on cars and documented, is this the same for mitsu? i have no idea. but i do too find myself on 15+ test drives.. its not that uncommon.. but then again it has a lot to do with the dealer, and the car line.. just my 0.02
