if you have a motor hoist it makes it much less frustrating getting it lined back up into the car.. if you have a garage and can heat it than do it yourself. you can have trans pulled and put back in within like 2-3hrs if you're quick.

What's your bigger problem? Money or time?

Solve both of your problems. Do it yourself, and do it quick. Save money, don't waste time.

It's better to have a professional do it that can back up what they do & fix it at their cost if anything was installed wrong....IMO. This is of course, unless you are a gear head & have no problem doing it yourself.....(which the average person is not).

Having done it myself, I'll gladly pay 500 to get it done.

Its one of the most important part for the car. I paid a professional to do it two times on the 8 already. I never had a transmission problem. EVER!

i would just bring it to a professional. could lead to less headaches in teh future if you mess something up by accident.

DIY, unless you know of a shop that will take care of your car like you would.

Simple answer.

If your hourly rate at your job is less than that of the cost to have it done professionaly, and given that you know how to do it and have the equipment, DIY. If your hourly rate or Salary is higher, send it somewhere and work those extra hours at your job to make up the money/make more$.

Man I just couldn't stand to fork over $500ish for what I KNOW I could do myself. Even if it was a pain in the ***. Then again, I don't make that much money, and have done this job a few times.
