Old Gas from Storage

I've been storing my Evo for a few months now, but it's ready to come out of hibernation -

Treatments I did 4 months ago include:

- oil change
- full tank of gas
- appropriate amount of stabil
- up on jacks
- hooked up to trickle charger

I didn't go with cylinder defogger, I thought it might be overkill for a few months but now I kind of wish I did, though it won't make a big difference I'm sure.

Anyway, after reading various posts I decided to fill up the tank all the way and add fuel stabil as my choice of storing methodology - now my question is, what do I do with this gas? Should I drain it? Or just drive it off, no boost etc?

Opinions?

I'd just drain it to avoid any issues. I can't imagine how annoying it would be driving through a full tank of gas off boost.

i'm not really concerned about driving the car mildly, that's how i drive 95% of the time anyway. If it's usable, I don't want to throw it away but if there's any concern out there about the quality of the gas for very mild driving (read: no boost, probably around 10-15% throttle max), then I'll drain it immediately (as soon as i figure out how to do that lol)

Probably not an issue to "grocery-get" the tank to empty. Thats what the stabil is for right?

But if you're really worried about it, draining the tank would be the prudent choice I guess, although 4 months is not that long with stabil.

I dont know how Sea Foam would do on a boosted application, you may want to look into that as well? It has worked well for me in NA applications after a long storage (long for me was 1.5 - 2.5 years).

Good Luck

Thanks for the tip - I actually think what I'm going to be doing is taking a highway trip about 200 miles with this tank lol
