Steps to starting Evo after long term storage?
Hey Guys.
So I've stored my Evo 9 in a covered storage unit for about 2 years due to the fact that I had another car as my daily driver and didn't have the chance to pull her out much.
Before I stored the car, I had it detailed, I changed brand new oil, I changed the coolant, did a full transmission/transfer/rear diff change, filled the tank up with premium gas and fuel stabilizer, filled the air in the tires with a bit extra PSI, and pulled the battery out. I started the car for about 4-6 months every week, until I finally decided to just pull the battery out completely.
I didn't get a chance to put it on jack stands or drive it on rubber pads (to avoid tire flat spots) or remove all the gas completely from sitting.
Since I want to bring the car out again now, and I'm a super paranoid Evo owner, should I just have the car towed to a reputable garage to have all the seals/gaskets, plugs, fuel system all checked to make sure the engine won't seize up or should I be ok to put in a new battery, check all fluids, visually inspect all gaskets and seals, check tire pressure and start her up?
What other steps should I take before I start the car? What steps should I take after the car is running?
Any help would be appreciated, thanks guys!

new oil as by now theres most likely some moisture in there. crank it over for a bit with the coils disconnected to circulate some oil. fire it up and your away.
check for leaks, warm it up and go for a drive.

I second Jonno. I had my car stored for about 4 years, and this is what I did before starting it:
-remove spark plugs and squirt Marvel Mystery Oil in each cylinder. Let sit overnight
-turn motor by hand by rotating the crank pulley (I checked the direction a few times)
-make sure it rolls; brakes not seized
-inspect fuel pump and filter, drain old fuel
-with spark plugs removed and fuel pump unplugged, use starter (ignition) to crank engine for 15 seconds, 4 times, about a minute apart
-put in new gas
-change coolant
-change oil and filter
-install spark plugs
This may be overkill for you since your storage environment was likely better than mine. When I popped the fuel lines to inspect the pump, the whole system was still pressurized, so I wasn't overly worried about draining out ALL the old gas or flushing the lines. I just emptied most of it and added new with some fuel system treatment.
