that's retarded, it looks like seibon made the mold without even taking the stock vent off.
Off topic kind off: did you weight the hood? is it heavier than stock?

Nah I have the evo 7 hood. There is nothing there to stop the rain from coming in. I'm old school and always liked hood scoops. As long as it looks and functions well.

Cut some slits open for sure, and let that hot air out. It will help the airflow inside the motor, keep the internal temps lower, and it will save that hoods clear coat from cracking in the future.

I am also interested in the weight issue. I know the stock hoods are very light, but I am interested to hear if they are actually lighter than some CF hoods.

Good luck

Let me get this straight, you have an evo 7 hood and want to add a Scoop (a la subaru) so it looks and functions well? You do know the evo hood has a vent, to let hot air ESCAPE, not to draw air in from the outside. If you add a scoop, you will cause some turbulence: hot air trying to escape will be pushed back in by the cool air from the scoop.

I will have to post up pics when it's complete so you can see what I'm talking about. It's not going to look like the subaru scoop at all. My design will draw air into the front of the scoop and come out the back side. This scoop will have 2 purposes. One, to keep rain from going directly into the opening and two, help pull hot air out of the engine bay from the cool air passing over the opening.

I vote Stock hood.
I've never liked CF hoods....and also hate hood pins.
I simply dont trust a CF hood on a stock latch..Seen way to many blow off at speed....scary and destructive

Yea I was in the air when I bought it for the EVO, As I had pins on my Integras CF hood.

2 years later and 140+mph HW sprints never came up. I think she'll be fine

I would cut it and put the stock vent mesh on this hood if you can make it fit. I cant belive its they would make a hood like that and that someone would actualy buy it..
