Need some quick helpp!

Ok, so i'm about 500 miles away from 80k luckily im ocd and take extremely great care of my car...ive recently been offered a great deal for a brand new 18g turbo and was wondering if it would be that beneficial to swap out the 16g i currently have in my VIII. ANYYY thoughts would be greatly appreciated

not familiar with the term 18g but I went to an FP RED at 70k and then my injector went bad and my motor blew right at 80k luckily enough I pulled it for a 2.3L build ..

I would say do it.. Shouldnt hurt anything, mine was more of a freak accident with a clogged injector. Just get a good, conservative tune

the 18g is basically just the later VIII models and the evo 9 and 10....basicallly just has the same inlet with the bigger hotside...supposed to be able to make more boost while still keeping it safe. plus i figured it wouldnt hurt to slap a brand new turbo on also lol

My car is at 120+k miles and i have a BBK Full with who knows how many supporting mods i have with E-85 and i am nearly at 500whp. So if i can do it, I KNOW you CAN do it as well. 80k miles is no problem what so ever for a bigger turbo with alot other mods. Just makes sure who ever tunes your car is a legit tuner. Non of those fawking copy and paste shats that those tuners do and just grab you moneyz and walk away. :\

it's not an 18g it's still a 16g

you'd need a re-tune to make use of the turbo

yea the turbo doesnt change, its still the 16G inlet with the 10.5 hotside.

just get the car retuned with the new boost levels

Remember, we have twin scroll turbos. If you are picking this up from an Eclipse/Talon forum or something, it will not work with your exhaust manifold. Just some food for thought.
