I'm a recent owner of an Evo 8 and I noticed this little button right in front of the emergency brake. It has 2 options so to say. Auto / Manual whats this for and when do I use it. Whats it do? I can provide a picture but I'm sure everyone knows what I'm talking about.

I've never had a turbo'd car and unfortunately the owners manual wasn't included. Also could anyone tell me how much gas is left from when the gas light goes on. Thanks again!

You could, but mainly when its really hot outside, or when your tracking the car.

If you do make sure to keep fluid in your resevoir.

 

Also when the light goes on there is i think about 1-2 gallons left in i believe

 

You can also use it to switch maps (street map/race map) if you get tuned.

no it's not^. Also, the auto switch doesn't seem to work. I just keep it pressed on hi-speed runs and release when shifting.

 

only the 03's had it if I'm not mistaken, I never use mine and if you put it on auto a little green icon comes on the dash which annoys me but I def. want it for the switching of the maps I'll have to mention that when I get it tuned

 

2003-2004 models had this feature and it is the intercooler spray.

Approximately one gallon is left in the tank when the light comes on, and based on the Evo's mpg its only about 20 miles lol.

I don't remember being able to get a gallon in the tank before it started to overflow. So, I suggest you have about a gallon left when full. The light goes on when you activate the switch. BTW, it does spray on Auto. I put mine in auto on a hot summer day and 400 miles later the tank was dry.
