Have you tried greyhound? They are usually the cheapest for bulky items.

Fedex will take them, just cardboard them up on the face/back of the wheel and they're off!

+1 that's how i got a set shipped to me. Tape them up really good so the cardboard doesn't come off though. That'll protect the faces and backside of the wheels.

if they have tires on them it's very easy

cut cardboard in round shapes slightly larger than the size of the wheel face and tape it to both sides only exposing the tire

I've done this twice and never had an issue...weight and size end up costing about 20-30 a wheel

I shipped a set of stock IX Enkeis in individual boxes for $50 total through a company account; I believe it was FedEx. Most tire/wheel shops should have wheel boxes laying around if you want to go looking for some.

greyhound is definitely a cheap alternative...just realize they only ship to certain terminals in each state so prepare to travel a little to pick them up

Yep, make sure you're going by total shipment weight and not doing 1 box at x weight and figuring 4x that value, then it gets expensive and it isn't how carriers consider shipment weight, it's total shipment weight to an address, regardless of the number of boxes.

Careful with greyhound. I've used them before and more times than not the item comes out w/a minimum of scratches, sometimes dings and gashes

I ordered a set of 5zigens wrapped in ziex 912s from Discounttiredirect.com and they came just like these other guys are saying. Shouldn't be more than 35-40 a wheel via fedex/ups.
