Camshafts

Quick questions guys/girls. I am looking into getting some cams for my e4. Will cams for any of the other evo fit cause i am not seeing much on ebay for the evo4. What is the suggested profile that will not give me harsh idle, will not require me to change the stock springs/lifters? The car is not a full drag car. Any and all advice will be greatly appreciated and welcomed. The car if fearly stock with an e7 ecu and the supporting mods and tuning to run 18 psi so far.

ultimately you'll get the most info here

http://www.lancerregister.com/

we are a U.S. based site so our knowledge of the older evo's are limited

You can fit any cams from an Evo 7-8MR as long as you fit the coreesponding bolt, MD368730 and the cylinder MD375814, or make the hole in your existing cylider big enough to accept the new bolt. If your running a standard turbo, a nice set of 260/4's would be good.

Evo 5-6 cams will so straight in.

was looking at a set of these. What are your taughts, they say it will replace the stock ones i have on my e4 and will not have to change springs/lifters etc. The only this is that they don't have 264. Opinions are greatly welcomed.

I was going to say the same thing. Although I dont have any first hand experience of this I have read the same thing a couple of times.

Oh and if your interested I have an extra set of bolts and cam gears that came off an evo viii. I dont know if you need the cam gears but I figured I would mention them. Let me know if you are interested and im sure we can work something out.

GSC's are a decent cam. Others to consider, Kelford, Cosworth and HKS.
