I was my engine bay all the time. I use P21S total auto wash and use a variety of brushes to try to clean as much as possible but when it comes to rinsing, I have a 1 gallon lawn and garden sprayer I guess is what you could call it to rinse the engine bay down with.

all the connectors under the hood have seals in them. Opening them up to blow them out is probably exposing the connections to more moisture then they would see if you had left them alone

some will tell you not to, other say its fine. Me personally i have done it and never had a problem, and have even pressure washed my engine bay on my s-10 and silverado. Just try to avoid blasting water at the intake and such. I like mine to be cooler, I'm not a fan of spraying cool water on a hot engine.

like said all electrical connections under the hood are made to seal out moisture. theres nothing wrong with rinsing it with water. i mean come on now, do you really think mitsubishi would put a big freaking hole in the hood and not use sealed connectors?

I almost never wash my engine. There's no need. The undertray is in place, preventing much of the road grime from reaching the engine bay. The car is washed every ~2 weeks and the engine is wiped down afterwards with a moist microfiber towel. I treat the hoses, etc with Sonus Motor Kote, and seal all metal surfaces about once a year. That's pretty much all it takes to maintain an as-new condition. Easy peasy.

I hot water, pressure wash my engine. I made sure water didn't build up in the spark plug wells. Never had any problems afterward.

I didnt read all the posts but, it is perfectly fine to wash down ur motor, when ur done take an air hose and blow all the water off all the electrical components and any standing water. I do this all the time at work, u'll be golden.
