I have had such a problem twice before. The first time was due to a misfire (bad plug) and the second was due to over-boosting (due to the weather / temperature transition). Both times when I pulled the code it showed up as a misfire.

Good luck!

thats really wierd. My friend Andy had this problem too when he first bought his car.. He put a AEM EMS and it went away some im guessing it has to do with the CEL for your stock ecu.

I found whats controlling the boost on the car, Its got a forge boost controller. Just a manual, But i turned it down like 3 or 4 clicks. Right now im in NY with the car, I bought it up here. I just want to make sure its safe to drive home. It seems stable though, And it will rev past 5k if im just slowly accelerating, Maybe it was just boosting too high. Ill be able to find out when i get off the island im on, its packed right now so going WOT is out of the question. lol
MAF sensors plugged in, Although theres two connectors that come off the harness that arent clipped into anything. dunno why. Ill try and get a pic up as soon as i can.

Still cutting up after turning the boost down. I was looking under the spark plug cover, One of my wires looks a little rough. Im going to swap it out with one of my girlfriends extras when i get back to FL and see if it makes a difference.
Today i had my first little issue, I lost 1st and 2nd gear lol, After a short search, it was the shift linkage to the left of the shifter. clip must have popped off. I twisted up a paper clip to keep it in place for now, Its good to go

my guess is the previous owner tried to run more boost and didnt get it tuned properly....probably getting fuel cut at 5k when going WOT....do you have a boost gauge hooked up?

ems isn't needed on these car so many people making huge power 800whp on stock ecu.I bet it needs a tune up (spark plugs) and tune take it to 1320 engineering and talk to jon he owns a evo 9 there in tampa he will get you all set and tuned with tamer from 4WS. When are you due to get home from your trip?
