New IX owner...Car grinds 3rd..even after clutch pedal adjust...

Well, as the topic says. My 06 IX grinds third even after a clutch pedal adjustment. I've tried all the way in and all the way out. It also tends to chirp gears during downshifts.

Syncros?

-Adam

Edit: Stock flywheel, 6 puck Competition clutch, Motul (IIRC, not quite sure on the name) trans fluids.

Hey Adam, i'm having the same issue w/ 3rd. You think you could elaborate a lil on what is causing the problem and what the fix is gonna be? I'm still trying to learn about this stuff and any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I had the same problem going into 5th gear it was a very small / light grind. Was replaced under warranty, it wasn't easy though and took some time.

I'm taking it up to my friendly local German Mitsu. dealer this Friday. I'll see what they say. They've done all the previous work on the car, so maybe they'll help me out a bit.....Let's hope.

ot: sorry it took me so long to respond to this guys, i didn't notice the notifications...if that makes sense.

If they're like an US dealer, they'll blame the clutch. Did you have this problem before the clutch? Aftermerket clutch's are known to cause shifting issues.

My ix did that when I bought it with 6000 miles... At 15k miles the dealer replaced the synchros but it still does it. When I was at AMS I asked them and they said it's common and a lot of brand new evos came with this. I just got used to it.

It's really odd, it even does it in downshifts on a few gears. But it doesn't do it as often, if i hold the clutch in long enough for the rpms to drop to idle. It's really annoying.
