I don't think the ebay exhausts are full stainless. They are stainless coated.

Please explain what a stainless coating is? Coatings are made up of partial metal for heat although no coating is true SS304. Not trying to flame just want to understand what you mean.

Please do flame.

Stainless coating? That's the most ignorant comment I've read yet.

I get into the bad habit of calling it stainless coated. It's a Ni/Ti/Fe/Cr plating.
We used to order full stainless concentric coolers from a company. About two years ago we noticed the high failure rates. We come to find the company we were getting these cooelrs from started purchasing coolers from a mfgr in china. they were not full stainless anymore. they are now "stainless coated".
when you buy an exhaust for $100 that has over $100 in "stainless steel" in it. Most likely it's not full stainless steel. If you look at the prices of metal.. , forming cost, labor (even cheap Chinese labor), shipping,, you're not buying a full stainless exhaust. The Chinese are undoubtedly the masters of producing a part as cheap as possible. They are very creative.

304, 316, 409, 410, 430 are all considered HSRs High Stain Resistant steels

Whatever do for a living, it obviously doesn't involve the manufacture of metal products.
Just a reminder... Ignorance is the lack of knowledge.

Man.. this place is turning into POS DSM.

I guess if your talking about chinese made metal we have no idea what they use. Thanks for the clarification I see why you called it a coating although it is just a really shiny paint that I have seen chip off from time to time. There is no QC on some of these Ebay parts which is why I don't understand why people keep ordering them. Yes people are disrespecting their EVO with these bargain basement parts. Oh well not like we can stop it.
