For those running a cone filter with the stock intake pipe

So today, I decided to go to home depot and buy a strip of aluminum. They sell 4'x1"x1/4" strips of aluminum for about $5. I bought one and just bent it in the shape I needed and cut it down to size. It took about 30-45 mins to do and only cost $5. I think I'm gonna remove it and paint it black next weekend. Here are some pics of how it looks:

my perrin filter fits like crap with the stock intake pipe. mine rubs against the acd reservoir and battery and im worried its going to rub a hole through the filter. does any one have any suggestions? i dont really want to waste $175 on the perrin intake pipe just to find out it doesnt fit any better
