Where to find aluminum roof?

Anyone out there actually replaced their roof with an aluminum one? Where did you get it from and how much was it? Might just patch the hole for the sunroof and call it a day, but would really rather have an MR Roof.

or find someone that crashed their MR and is willing to part with the roof skin. I think its held in with rivets so it shouldn't be too hard to remove.

^^^^ this

the MR roof is 17lbs

the carbon roof is 15lbs

only 2 lbs, but you'll probably end up paying a pretty penny and waiting a while for the MR roof, since they're not really a common part, but for about $1200 you can get the carbon roof... i wouldn't patch the SSL roof cause it'll still weighs a good amount, and will cost a good amount to do also...

good luck

^^^ shot him a PM. Good Find! I actually think a new MR roof is under $1k. Does anyone know weight of the stock steel roof w/o a sunroof vs the MR roof?

I bet it would be cheaper to sell your current Evo and get one with the roof you want.

Nearly any bodyshop will be able to access an online database to find used parts (often from crashed vehicles). They should be able to find you an MR roof no problem.

no chance. a new hood is over $1400, front bumper is like $1000. no way the roof is under $1000.
