If we were to recommend a VTA it would be the Tial plain and simple. That is the best bov that is out on the market. But running a VTA on a stock ecu evo is/was risky. Some people got lucky and some didn't.

The synapse is probably the best one to with or the forge. There is a benefit to bypass valves from factory and that is, they keep air in the intake pipe between shifts...

jasnm21,

The Tial QR suggested is a recirculated type, a new release from Tial, it vents to the intake.

This is hilarious because YOU'RE the one suggesting to ME to go watch the fast and furious Youre the one that said go buy the HKS SSQV, I suggested a quality BOV that will actually hold boost and is relatively quiet. The SSQV is the worlds sh*ttiest BOV. Its a straight up ricer bov. And it does not even make a woosh sound, it sounds like a choked bird chirping.

Go back to B20vtec you imbecile.

Synapse still over the HKS. From what Ive read, theres speculation as to whether or not a recirculated bov helps keep the BOV spooled vs a VTA setup.

^^Sounds like Synapse is the was to go then, especially if there is even a possiblity of spool loss for VTA.

I just noticed that lol. I haven't seen the recirculated type since the prototype and it was a big looking ball lol. I should've looked at the picture more before replying lol

I am need of a recirc bov that holds 30+psi as well. I really like the Forge RS as far as the direct replacement. I have only heard good from the Synchronic but it looks funky and not so stock when on the car. Im also on a budget and the synchronic is more expensive from what i've seen. If Ryu used the Forge RS on his FP Black at 46psi then im sure it works!

^^ All of them hold the same boost, the spring is meant for when the boost is released based on the vacuum you run at idle and operating temp.

Most of you guys tend to look for stock replacement for easy install, but here in Grenada almost EVERYTHING has to be custom due to unavailability of parts, so getting the Tial QR and having the flange welded on isn't such a chore to me.

I went with the un-painted spring because my vacuum at idle is 17 in/Hg, but you can safely go with the White spring, because that will allow the valve to open quicker when you let off the throttle. I'm thinking I may have to buy the white spring but I'll see how it goes with the unpainted.

Whats a b20vtec? I gave him another option. You still forget were not talking about a vented one. Get off your high horse. You call me a ricer yet your talking about what sound it makes, who's the ricer now? Btw your not even running a 60lb/min turbo.

Whys everyone just talking about psi?

I have black spring and a cut black spring and my Tial will still surge. I'm going to try it with boost/tps though and see how I like it (with an EVC).

Well, the HKS wouldn't be a direct replacement since you would need to cut off the current flange and replace it with theirs. The HKS in no louder then any other valve that I have tried...actually its quieter then the turbo xs POS I had on there first, which was routed back into the intake, where my HKS is VTA. I also tried the Greddy type-s which also failed me, before going with the HKS which so far has never caused surging even under the smallest amount of boost and will hold as much boost as I could ever want to run with no adjustment. I didn't feel that it was louder then when I had my Greddy routed back into the intake so I left it VTA since I have the option. I definitely do not consider myself a ricer considering if it doesn't make the car accelerate quicker, stop faster or turn harder...I don't want it. HKS = no springs and no diaphragms to go bad. I have spent close to $1000 on BOV's searching for one that works. Please don't generalize. BTW if you drive an Evo then everyone that doesn't have one thinks your a ricer too. "Who cares about holding boost?" I do.
