Wrapping my evo...

There is a local shop that does vinyl and full wraps. They recently did an escalade in flat black. I love the matte look and they claim to be able to do it for half the cost of a paint job (under $10 sq ft). Does anyone know what the surface area of an evo 8 is?

Did I ask any of you for your opinions? All I want is the area of the exterior in square footage. If you want, google the Wrap Factory and look at the escalade they had at WOW.
Seriously, I dont knock some of the ridiculous wheels and shopping cart wings some of you guys throw on your cars, so grow the f up. Your opinion means s**t to me.

Ive honestly been considering it also, I never realized how cheap vinyl wrapping was. The best part is if you hate it, just pull it all off basically haha. I know there are no flat black cars by me, and I have satin black powdercoated BBS's so it'd be a nasty combo full of win.

There was a picture somewhere on EvoM of a wrapped flat black IX and one of a X. They're sexy.

The only thing stopping me personally is I loveeee GG. Flat black is just nasty though.

If my calculations are correct using the service manual vehicle dimensions, it should be around 140 sq. ft of material needed.

why don't you just call and make an appointment for a quote. i don't think ANYBODY has any hard data on the outside square footage on an evo. it would be cool to see though. post pics and price if you do it.

If you get it done post up some pics for sure. Like others have said, if you dont like it take it off. How long does it last? Anyone know?

They told me it could technically last for years if you garage your car. They do tour busses and such that last out on the road for 18 months or more. It looks like it could be under 1500 bucks, so I think I'm gonna do it.

I saw an M3 wrapped in matte black. I thought concept was pretty cool. I bet the car would be like a rolling furnace in the summer, being black and all.
