I have a 06 mr with a spun rod bearing, and just purchased brand new evo 8 rods and evo 8 crank. Are they the same on 06 and 03 models? Shop told me only difference are pistons, I want to see if thats true.

 

dont know why the pistons would be different but i did a search and this came up. so im thinking that you probably will be fine but you should ask a shop shuch as AMS or Buschur or anyone else that builds engines for the evo

if i remember correctly there was a thread showing the differences between the 2 pistons, and the difference was only the oem markings on them, one showed 3 "dots" and one showed only 1 "dot" or marks if u wanna call it.
I will post it on here if i coudl find it.
