Evo 9. What is this

just been installing a couple new parts and came across this as i was just checking over before i shut the hood.

anyone have any idea what this would be for?

Might want to include a shot from further away, having a hard time telling where in the engine bay you are talking about... Doesn't look stock though. Electrical tape and standard unshielded wires would be my hint towards that...

I just went out to look. I can't locate that connecter. Can you give a better idea of where it is?

It almost looks after market?.. the only reason i say this is because the tape on it.

Could possibly be for derivatives for other countries, or for homologation. we make cars where i work and the harnesses have connectors not used for certain derivatives but its more cost effective to produce one harness then lots of different ones for different environments...

just my 2p worth

Yes, it is probably only on EDM or JDM cars. No idea what it is for, but I wouldn't be alarmed if you cant find your 'dummy connector'.
